We've been bringing Junior DarkChatters to the Fringe for 10 years, and now being 13 it is tricky knowing how to pick their shows and which age group we should be aiming for. Fortunately there are a lot of 12+ shows in the Fringe programme this year but we made one foray into the Children's Section for Marcel Lucont's Les Enfants Terribles - A Game Show for Awful Children.
Aimed at children six and over our two were probably a little too old for the format but having watched Marcel over years this reviewer thoroughly enjoyed the Frenchman failing to hide his disdain for children whilst trying (and increasingly failing) to control a variety of awful kids who failed to understand the rules of the games he had set for them.
I hope for his sake this particular show was a blip (it was 2for1 day which Lucont himself noted "does bring out the rough kids!") but I enjoyed the professionalism of Marcel desperately trying to hold it all together and keep on track a show that had started 15 minutes late due to technical issues. Chaotic Fun!
