Tom Parry: Parryoke!
We have been fans of Tom Parry for many years, from the early Pappy's days and more recently his previous stand-up show
"Yellow T Shirt" (explaining why we both turned up to his latest show wearing the same T shirt).
Tom Parry is a force of nature. If you didn't enjoy his show (and why wouldn't you) his energy levels and natural enthusiasm
for life would win you over. He bounds on stage singing nonsense words from songs I have barely heard of (this is a show
based in the 1990s) and though it is called "Parryoke" this isn't all about karaoke, although there is a hilarious section about
how this can all go terribly wrong.
From his previous show we learnt that Tom is obsessive. Then it was fancy dress and now it is wedding etiquette rules (he is
now of an age where he is caught up in an endless whirl of weddings) and presents. At the show I saw an audience member
laugh so much at one story (& photograph) that I thought she may need medical assistance. Not that I am saying Tom is a
danger to your health, the opposite, you will bound out of Pleasance livelier than you entered. Guaranteed!
Tom Parry: Parryoke! is at Pleasance Courtyard (Beside) until August 26th (not 13th)
